Get Clear Answers to Your Most Common Dental Questions

Have questions about your dental care? You’re not alone. Whether you’re new to our practice or a longtime patient, these dental FAQs cover the topics that matter most to you. At Parkland Smile Dental, we hear the same concerns from patients every day, and we love helping people feel informed and at ease before they ever sit down in the chair.

1. How Often Should I Come in for a Cleaning and Exam?

For most patients, twice a year is the sweet spot. Routine visits every six months allow our team to monitor your oral health, catch small issues before they become bigger ones, and keep your teeth feeling fresh and clean. If you have gum disease, a history of cavities, or other ongoing concerns, we may recommend coming in three to four times per year. Your care plan is always tailored to you.

2. What If I Haven't Been to the Dentist in a While?

No judgment here. Life gets busy, and dental visits are easy to put off. Many of our patients come in after a long gap and feel nervous about what we might find. Our team at Parkland Smile Dental is genuinely welcoming and here to help you get back on track, not to lecture you. We’ll take stock of where things stand and put together a clear, manageable plan to get your smile healthy again.

3. Does Parkland Smile Dental Accept My Insurance?

We accept a wide range of insurance plans, including Delta, WDS, MetLife, United Health, Concordia, Aetna, Regence, Principal, and Cigna, among others. If you’re unsure whether we take your plan, give us a call and our front desk team will help you figure it out. We also offer financing options through CareCredit and accept Visa, so there are ways to make care work for most budgets.

4. What Financing Options Are Available?

We want cost to be as little of a barrier as possible when it comes to your dental health. In addition to accepting most major insurance plans, we offer CareCredit financing and other payment options. We also have a Dental Membership Plan for patients without insurance who want to save on care and skip the hassle. Ask us about current new patient specials, including a complete exam with X-rays and cleaning for $159.

5. What Are My Options for Replacing Missing Teeth?

This is one of the most common questions in our Parkland dental FAQs, and the answer really depends on your situation. We offer dental implants, implant-supported dentures, bridges, flippers, and full or partial dentures. For patients missing most or all of their teeth, All-on-X full arch implant restorations are a life-changing solution we specialize in. During a consultation, Dr. Lee will walk you through every option and help you choose what fits your health, lifestyle, and budget.

6. Is Sedation Available for Anxious Patients?

Yes. We offer oral sedation for patients who feel anxious or nervous about dental procedures. Dental anxiety is very common, and our team has a lot of experience helping nervous patients feel comfortable. From the moment you walk in, our goal is to make your visit as calm and easy as possible.

7. What Cosmetic Services Do You Offer?

Quite a few! Our Parkland dental team provides veneers, Lumineers, dental bonding, teeth whitening trays, smile makeovers, and even cosmetic Botox. Whether you want to brighten your smile, fix a chip, or completely redesign the way your teeth look, we have options that range from subtle to dramatic. Dr. Lee and Dr. Chiu will help you figure out what makes sense for your goals.

8. Do You See Patients Who Speak Other Languages?

Yes. Our team speaks English, Spanish, Korean, Cantonese, and Mandarin. We want every patient to feel comfortable and understood, and being able to communicate in your language is a big part of that.
